The Turning Points Collaborative Society is on a mission to end chronic homelessness and raise awareness about issues that impact communities in the Okanagan, like the affordable housing crisis and the extensive effects of substance use disorder. Their services include an impressive Continuum of Care that consists of outreach programs, access to shelter services, temporary housing, addictions recovery, and employment services. They seek to empower their clients, and implement lasting change. It’s no wonder that due to their efforts, homelessness in West Kelowna has been reduced by almost a third in just one year.
In order to support their mission and the larger Okanagan community, Highstreet donated $50,000 to the Turning Points Collaborative Society.
Highstreet recognizes that building a resilient community is an ongoing effort that everyone needs to take part in. “We always try to think of ways that we can help and find organizations that we can support. We see the difference Turning Points makes in actually getting people off the street,” said Scott Butler, Highstreet CEO.
“We challenge other businesses looking to make a difference to donate and volunteer where they can. Every piece counts.”
